The Power of Passion

Passion is something that if you have it you know it!  Passion increases your awareness; demands your attention and empowers you to take action!

When you are passionate about something, your ability to accomplish that which you are passionate about is not as important as your determination!

When you are passionate about something, it is the reason for your very existence!

Passion is powerful!  It does NOT matter what others say about my inability to accomplish something. I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)!

Passion is powerful! It does NOT matter what obstacles or challenges I face. I am more than a Conqueror (Romans 8:37)!

Passion is powerful! It does NOT matter, who or what tries to tear me down.  No weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17)!

Passion is powerful!  It does NOT matter if I do not have enough money.  He will supply all of my needs (Philippians 4:19)!

When passion lives in you, you inspire, empower, influence, motivate, lead and make a difference in the lives of others.

When passion lives in you, you serve and become a blessing to others!

I am humbly honored that I have passion and my prayer is that it NEVER fades.  Allow me to share with you an email I received a few days ago that literally brought me to tears…

”Dear Women Of God, The devil has tried to kill me on numerous of occasions, but as the singer Kurt Karr said in his song God blocked it! I thank you for your support, but I must say it is a privilege and honor coming from You. I was truly inspired by your website along with your message to our Sisters out there struggling from day to day trying to find themselves.  I am focusing on God, my health and what he has planned for me when this journey is over. Ms. Jamie please keep helping our sista’s out there. God has gifted you with his anointing and covered you with the hands of mercy from the hands of the enemy, trust me on this one! The devil don’t like you helping God’s daughter’s prosper! Ms. Jamie some women are not willing to help themselves they have given up. The devil has planted that seed of doubt in their minds. That is why I am glad we have Women of God like you. Remember keep God’s handprint in everything you do. I love you my Sista In Christ.”

Ladies, this is the Power of Passion that by the Grace of God resides in Me!

Until next time,

To your heart and mind BE TRANSFORMED!

Walking in love, does not mean walking all over you!

Many people watched Whitney Houston (my girl) on Oprah and heard when she talked about Bobby Brown spitting on her.  I am sorry, even a Christian, who loves the Lord, is saved and a servant, that totally and completely would have drawn the line!!!  I do not think I would have lashed out and hit him, but he would have been out of my house, NEVER to return! That is probably the most humiliating thing a person could ever do to another!

He seemed to be very envious and jealous of her, and we all know what that can do.  In fact, in some cases, jealousy and envy have been the cause of death!  I have to admit, she “seemed” to handle it very well, considering she is what people consider to be a “ghetto girl.”  Call her what you want, she is back and is taking NO PRISONERS.  I am very proud of her, despite what she has been through….we all have gone through similar situations, so it is not for us to judge or comment on how she handled the situation or even on what we would have done in as similar situation.  See, it is easy to say what you would have done until you are faced with having to make that decision.

I have to admit when I first recognized that God wanted us to walk in love, I had a major problem with that!  It was difficult for me to allow someone to hurt me and not want to hurt them back.  I was a fighter!  I did not start any trouble; however, I was not taking any mess from anyone else either.  Growing up, I used to be picked on a lot because I was short, had long hair, was smart in school and the other girls would say that I thought I was cute!  Well, I was always a modest person, in fact, my mother used to say I would “play down” a lot!  So, I realized they were just very jealous, envious or both!

Even today, I am still very humble AND I still have that fight in me!  The difference is I now fight for Jesus!  I have been called a “firecracker” by many because I am high energy (well, not lately)!  I get very excited very easily.  I am a protector! I had a girlfriend who always told me that I was loyal to a fault.  My Big Mom (grandmother), used to tell me I reminded her of Ruth.  Until I got older, I thought Ruth was a long lost aunt! I guess you could say that I am very loyal.  If I am your friend, I am your friend to the very end!

Now I am also one who knows how to remove people from my life!!!  I have learned how to love from a distance! That was not always the case.  I was a people pleaser, wanted everyone to be happy!  I finally realized that you cannot please everyone; however, you have to please God!  Even God has His battles to fight!  He got angry and made people pay!  But HE is God and can do that!!!  :-0  My point is…we are expected to become angry at offenses, we are human and it is our natural reaction.

I believe as Christians we think we are not supposed to become angry! That is just NOT realistic.  I am sorry, it’s NOT!  The Bible says, be angry and sin NOT!  God knows that we are going to go through the fire and the storm.  It is not what you go through; it is how you handle the situation.  Retaliation is not the best way to handle any situation; however, there are times when you have to fight back!  Now, I am not talking about physically, unless your life dependent on it!  Let’s just keep it real!  I am referring to the word of God!  I have learned that the word of God is a mighty sword and will and can fight any battle for you!  Now, the word does not work if you do not read it and apply it!

We have to recognize the evil in this world, and take it for what it is.  “Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist” – 2 John 7.  Don’t get it twisted, there are evil spirited people in the world and they are out to destroy you and me!

Be smart ladies! Don’t try to change people. Don’t try to fix people. Don’t try to control people.  IT IS NOT YOUR JOB,  it is GOD’s job!  AND DO NOT allow people to mistreat you.   It seems I have been saying this so much lately.  I guess it bears repeating!

Walk in love or walk away, but don’t allow someone else to walk all over you!!!

Until next time, to your heart and mind, BE TRANSFORMED!

Don’t fall back, SPRING AHEAD!!!

The fall season is quickly approaching.  It is during the fall season that the leaves begin to fall from the trees, it gets dark earlier, it gets colder and we begin to eat comfort foods!  Because of daylight savings time, we are instructed to set our clocks back an hour, therefore we lose an hour of sleep!

I have always wondered why it is during the fall season, we seem to lose so much! Hmmm….  See, this is what happens when you go backwards, you lose out!  When you go backwards, you are attempting to regain some level of comfort that you believe brings you joy.  In reality, you are blocking your blessing (s) that lie ahead!

I remember when my heart was broken for the first time.  My mother told me to stop looking back and rationalizing what coulda, shoulda , woulda been.  She told me that if the situation was meant to be different, it would have been.  I  can still here her say “You are going to miss your blessing, if you keep going back there!”  However, despite my mother’s words of wisdom, I kept going back trying to change and fix things because it was better than sitting around wallowing in my self-pity.  The reality is every time I revisited the  situation, I experienced deeper pain. So actually, going back made it a whole lot worse!  I lost so much time going back and waisted so much energy on a situation that had come to an end!

It wasn’t until I began to leave the past in the past, that God began to release the blessings in my life!  There is a reason why the past is behind and that God tells us to move ahead and leave those things behind!  He wants us to be in a position to receive what He has for us.  Yes, we all have had our share of trials and tribulations.  And perhaps your are experiencing your share right now!  Despite what has already occured.  It is over, you cannot get it back , you cannot change what happened, so move on!

Remember when Lot’s wife kept looking back?  She became a pillar of salt  [Genesis 19:25-26]. Lot’s wife was not committed to giving up her old ways in exchange for obeying God.  As a result she was destroyed!

I don’t know about you, however, I want to be in a position to receive ALL of the blessings that God has awaiting!!!  As my girl, Yolanda Adams says so beautifully, Im Gonna be Ready!!!

Learn from Lot’s wife’s mistake, don’t fall back!  SPRING AHEAD to the future that God has predestined for you!

Until next week…to your heart and mind BE TRANSFORMED!
